"Bon Appétit has opened up Pi Café, our on campus fair-trade, organic coffee shop for the summer..."

This makes me so happy to hear. I wish that more school campuses offered this.

Thanks so much for your question! Here at Wes, barring a few exceptions, everyone is required to be on a meal plan. What's great about the options is that they are super flexible. Freshmen can buy 5 meals a week or 8 meals a week. Meals are basically all you can eat options in the Usdan Campus Center's main dining hall. In addition to the 5 or 8 meals, freshman are given 953 or 686 points a semester, respectively- one point equals roughly one dollar. These points can be used for à la carte dining at the Usdan Center or at any other dining center including Pi Café, WesWings or Red & Black Café. Points are used to buy meals during lunch and to buy coffee or breakfast and meals are generally used for Usdan's all you can eat dinners. Bon Appetit is our new food service provider. They make all the delicious food we eat on a daily basis. And I must say, the food is, in fact, delicious. I just got back from dinner at the new Campus Center. I had a great salad and a delicious fajita and for lunch today I had really good sesame noodles and tofu. This is the first year that all of the main eating options on our campus have been put into one building- the Suzanne Lemberg Usdan Campus Center. In there you can find a grill with burgers and fries, vegan café, Kosher Kitchen, a Mongolian Barbecue, a salad bar and a few other options. Off of the main eating area are two dining halls with lots of seating as well as a terrace for eating outside. All in all it's pretty awesome!

Hi, I just have a few questions about the dining. There is a meal plan at Wes, right? How does it work? Is it required for freshmen? The Bon Appetit place, is it a dining hall or an organic shop? Are there dining halls at Wes(I was in a hurry when I last visited,so I didn't have a chance to look for places to eat). Most of all, well, how is the quality of the food?
I'm sorry, that's a lot of questions. Thank you!

Check out Bon Appétit's blog! It gives great insight into the company. Does everyone have a blog these days or what?
